Appointed a member of the Securities Authority by the Minister of Finance, Avigdor Lieberman, on 9.12.2021.
CPA Tamim Saad has worked in the Ministry of Finance since 2009 and holds senior management and finance posts in the Accountant General’s Department. He is currently senior accountant in Ministry of Environmental Protection, and previously served as accountant for the Capital Market Authority and in other senior positions in the Department, the most prominent of which – senior deputy accountant in the Ministry of Internal Security, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Services Accountant. In these posts he served as a member of the Ministries Administration.
Saad began his career in the Israel Ministry of Finance as an economist in the financial oversight and corporate governance sector of the leading government corporations in the economy, such as the Electric Corporation, Mekorot, Security Infrastructure, Ports, etc. He later held head-office posts in the Finance and Banking Division o the Accountant-General’s Office, in which, among other things, he supervised the Inbal Insurance Company and headed an interdepartmental committee for national financial and security preparedness for catastrophe, and was the first head of a project to assess the value of the State’s lands, measurement of a spectrum of frequencies, actuarial obligations, etc.
Along with his posts in the Ministry of Finance, Tamim held other senior posts. In 2017, he was appointed a member of the Securities Authority and served as a member on its various committees – the Prospectuses Committee, the Secondary Market Committee, and the Audit Committee.
In 2016, he was appointed a director in the Haifa Port, and in this post he led the Haifa Port Company’s business strategy on the board of directors to deal with the port competition from Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd. (SIPG). In this post, Tamim took an active part in the main finance, audit, strategy, development and investment, and resources committees.
Tamim is a licensed accountant and has a B.A. in Economics and Accounting from the Hebrew University and a graduate degree from Harvard University as part of the Wexner Program.
A resident of Yanuh Jat and a graduate of the Cadets for the Municipal Service Master's Program, he also served in the IDF as a naval officer in Shayetet 3 and Shayetet 13, in which he participated, commanded, and led various security operations. His social activities include establishing, on a voluntary basis, a technological enterprise program to set up startups for minorities.
